On-Site Demonstrations

While a picture paints a thousand words, we're convinced our web site cannot effectively communicate the power of the tools UYS has developed for Eclipsys' Series 7000 and the options and experience we have to offer.  So we're extending an offer to visit your site and demonstrate our IMPLEMENTED, REVOLUTIONARY, TIME SAVING tools.  These tools will significantly reduce maintenance time and cost, improve compliance, free clinical resources from performing redundant computer tasks and / or increase customer (user) satisfaction.  If your facility is currently running and supporting a Series 7000™ system, benefits will be realized from these tools.

Request your on-site demo by e-mail at show.off@uysinc.com or call (770) 619-2294.  Product demos include:

*   Protocol Order Initiator

*   Protocol Schedule Manager

*   Sign Orders Module

*   Medication List Ordering

*   Auto-IV Bag Initiator

*   POS (Personal Order Set) Maintenance Tool

*   IV Bag Initiator

*   Other Enhancements

Still not convinced our tools can help your site?  Review the overview documents available for most of the enhancements above at our web page (www.uysnc.com), request a copy via e-mail (overviews@uysinc.com) or request a fax or hard copy by phoning (770) 619.2294 (please indicate enhancement of interest, otherwise all overview documents will be supplied!).

Protocol Order Initiator

UYS has developed a suite of tools for Eclipsys' Series 7000 that will update a patient's record with components (orders, instructions, demographic data, etc.) from standardized order sets and protocols.  These tools can update a patient record with standardized orders from either Personal Order Sets (POS) or CareMinder™ Standard Plans.  The user need only enter a Standard Plan or and an initial component for an order set (POS) and the components associated with that set (M, P or S data) are automatically entered on the patient.

CareMinder™ sites know how cumbersome it can be to enter all the outcomes and goals associated with a Standard Plan of Care.  And entering this data is a redundant task better left to the computer, freeing clinical users for more critical tasks.  But you do not have to be a CareMinder site to benefit from this tool.  Any site with standing orders that can be placed in a Personal Order Set can take advantage of this development to improve outcomes, decrease errors and free clinicians from performing the redundant task of entering protocol orders!

And maintaining your Personal Order Sets is a snap using UYS' Personal Order Set Maintenance Tool .

The Protocol Order Initiator is perfectly complemented by our Protocol Schedule Manager.

Protocol Schedule Manager

Protocol orders often have due times that are relative to a preceding event, such as the start time of the protocol which may itself be a dynamic event: "Begin protocol X after WBC results received from lab". Series 7000 release 3.0 and later does permit relative start dates and times, however scheduled medications require frequencies using absolute due times (i.e. 08:00, 22:30 or 03:PM).  Once scheduled, Series 7000 does not have the functionality to permit a user to globally change absolute due times (for example, to delay all future medications doses by 2 hours).

Clinicians cannot always predict when a protocol will be initiated and once initiated any number of mitigating circumstances can result in the need to delay the entire protocol or any remaining orders and / or doses.  This means that a change in start times or a delay in therapy results in the need for a user to individually adjust the administration time of all subsequent orders.

Due to these shortcomings many facilities elect to assign miscellaneous schedules to ordered protocols, which introduces an entire different set of issues.  Not using "interpretive schedules" within Series 7000 means that the clinicians become responsible for managing the execution of the orders within a protocol manually, since when using miscellaneous schedule the system can no longer provide the schedule management.

UYS has the Solution: The Protocol Schedule Manager:

*   Using absolute schedules, schedules an entire set of orders relative to a user entered start date and time or activation date and time of a protocol originally entered as suspended.

*   Adjusts the schedules of an entire set of orders relative to a single adjustment entered by a user.

*   Reschedules all uncharted doses relative to a single schedule adjustment entered by a user.
